Bocce

Bocce is a great way to make friends and enjoy a friendly competition. The game is easy to learn and we are here to help you. Since the game can be flexible in terms of how many people play on each court (4-8 players), and since players are assigned randomly to courts, there is no requirement to attend each day. Just come when you can!

The club plays three days a week – Monday, Wednesday and Friday. In the winter we play in the afternoons and in the summer we play during the evening.

OPEN BOCCE COURTS

Enjoy a casual or competitive game of bocce with family or friends on one of the four courts. You may borrow balls from the Activity Center or bring your own balls. OPEN PLAY is available at any time other than the club times as listed on the SCOV Calendar.

For more details, please visit our website.

SCOV Pickleball Club

POP Tennis

The court is smaller, the racquet or paddle is shorter and the ball is less lively. The players serve underhand—not overhand, as in Tennis. All of these things make POP Tennis easy to play.

The huge benefits for POP Tennis players are that the rallies are generally longer than those of Tennis; there is more fun and exciting net play and (net) poaching; there is less court to cover; there are no overhead serves to learn; and as a result, there is far less running and wear and tear on the back, legs, feet, and shoulders.

Racquetball

RACQUETBALL (WOMEN AND MEN) The racquetball court in the Aquatic & Fitness center is open every day during regular hours.

The club meets Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8 A.M. for doubles racquetball. If you like playing singles or cut-throat, some of us meet at 7:30 A.M. We have players ranging from beginner to advanced.

Annual dues are $5.

The club has also formed the Racquetball/Pickleball Beer League that meets Thursday from 3:00 – 4:30 on the pickleball courts during warm weather, followed by socializing at the Views restaurant. The club has its annual business meeting/social in January and an annual Spring BBQ in March.

Anyone interested in joining should contact: Gary Henson secretary/treasurer, at 262-573-6605

Table Tennis

Table Tennis (Ping Pong) can offer gentle exercise or vigorous competition. Some club members enjoy volleying without keeping score, while other members play competitively. Either way, players benefit from improvements in eye-hand coordination, motor speed and concentration in a very friendly climate-controlled atmosphere. Three tables are available every day: Mon-Sat (9:00 am-8:00 pm) and Sun (9:00 am-4:00 pm). Non-club players can play at any time not assigned to club members below, but you will likely need to bring someone to play with. We recommend flat soft-soled or tennis shoes. Paddles and balls are available for members, non-members and guests. Membership in the club is only $5.00 a year per person and offers many advantages. Signup information is contained in the Table Tennis cabinet in the Copper Center.
