Kactus Krooners Barbershop Harmony

For people who like to sing and would like to learn about and experience singing 4-part a cappella Barbershop Harmony. Both men and women, residents and non-residents are welcome. This informal group meets weekly just for the fun of ‘ringing chords’ and singing a variety of songs in men’s ranges which span up to 2 1/2 octaves between bass and tenor. Music is provided.

Different Drummers Women’s Circle

The Mission of The Different Drummer’s Women’s Drum Circle is to facilitate hand drumming (African djembe); hand-held Native American frame-log drums and other small percussion instruments (as accents). Each member will be considered an equal part of the Circle, giving and taking whichever emotional/spiritual values that she is comfortable with. People worldwide, for centuries, have used group drumming to energize minds and bodies, strengthen community bonds, release stress, and celebrate life. Join our community drum circle to connect with other Sun City women. Drum, laugh, and meet new friends. You may be surprised to learn that you already have an innate rhythm. Drums provided for guests.

Early Music Recorder Ensemble

Discover or re-kindle your latent musical interest and ability by playing early music on a recorder with a group of like-minded folks. All levels of skill and all types of recorders are welcome. Renters, visitors and nonresidents also welcome. Music provided or bring some of your music to share.

Sun City Singers

This choral group is composed of men and women who enjoy singing all types of music including show tunes, the classics, and popular music. There is participation in the annual Holiday Show, their own Holiday Concert, the annual Spring Concert, as well as concerts outside Sun City at churches and country clubs.

We love the ukulele for many good reasons. It’s small enough to carry around and small enough to wrap your hands around, even if they don’t work as well as they used to. It’s easy enough to play that most of us can get it and hard enough that we are proud of ourselves when we do. It makes a sweet sound that you can easily sing along with. Most importantly, it is a time machine — perfectly suited to play songs that have lain dormant in our hearts for years When we play and sing them, our spirits take wing and we soar back — to the sweet dream of dancing in a lantern-lit hall; to the warmth family sing-along’s on Saturday night; to that special song playing on the car radio as we drove home with our first true love. We hope you will join us.
