Sun City Oro Valley homeowners can enjoy the fitness center and two pools, the Aquatic & Fitness Center and the Desert Oasis Recreation Center.

Take in some of the best views of the Catalina Mountains while working up a sweat in our fitness center and weight room or while in our outdoor, heated pool. Here you’ll find cardio, weight machines and free weights along with water & studio exercise classes, a racquetball court and spa. A personal trainer, fitness center coordinator and monitors are available to help.

The pools & fitness center are private facilities and for Sun City Oro Valley residents’ use only.

Public Fitness Class Reservations & Purchase Exercise Pass

Bocce - Reserve one of 4 bocce courts near the Aquatic Fitness Center.  Time slots available for up to 2 hours from 5AM to 8 PM.   Bocce equipment available at Activity Center.


Billiard tables - Reserve 1 of 4 tables at Catalina Vista.  Time slots available in 1 hour increments from 7 AM till 8 PM.   


DO courts - Reserve one  of 2 courts at Desert Oasis  for duration of 1 or 2 hours.    Time slots available from 5 AM to 8 PM


Lap Lanes - Reserve one of 5 lanes at the swim pool at Aquatic Fitness Center for duration of 30 or 60 minutes.   Time slots available from 5 AM till 8 PM.   Water temperature maintained between 82 and 84 degrees.   Kick boards and noodles available for use at the pool.


Mini Golf - Reserve use of mini golf for duration of 1 hour. Time slots available from 5 AM till 8 PM.   Putters and golf balls available at Activity Center for use.


Pickleball - Reserve one of 7 pickleball courts for duration of 60 or 90 minute.  Time slots available from 6:30 AM till 8 PM.


Racquetball - Reserve the racquetball court in Aquatic Fitness Center for up to 2 hours.  Time slot are available from 5 AM till 8 PM.   


Tennis Courts - Reserve 1 of 6 tennis courts for duration of 1 or 2 hours.  Time slots available from 6 AM till 8 PM.  
 

Classes

Instructor led,  most meet twice a week for 60 minutes 


Aqua Zumba - combines the South American rhythm and dance steps with a pool party.  It offers  a fun, water-based, body-toning workout.    


Balance - Covers a variety of exercises designed to improve muscular strength and endurance. Great for all fitness levels. ... stretching to improve stamina, flexibility and overall daily function.


Chair Balance -This seated version of the Monday morning Balance Class offers a gentler version for participants who need to sit for 50% (or 100%) of the 60-minute class.
Each class will offer up a balanced flow of both seated and standing tai chi and qigong movements, centering techniques, and breathing practices.  You will be standing on the floor or sitting or leaning on chairs to perform the movements.  You must be able to sit down and stand up without assistance.  When standing, chairs can be used for props and to support better balance.  Wear comfortable clothing and shoes appropriate for exercise. 



Cardio Chair Aerobics - Chair aerobics, like any aerobic workout, is designed to elevate your heart rate and keep it elevated for a set period of time. It helps build endurance and strengthen the heart. We use a rubber band, hand weights and rubber ball.


Cardio Core Fusion -Create strength from the inside out. CardioCore Fusion is a whole-body workout with elements of strength and cardio, balance, and core stability. Enjoy a fun low-impact class with a mix of dynamic core-stabilizing exercises, cardiovascular endurance, and strength exercises (with a strong focus on the core and stability), to get the blood flowing followed by mat work and stretches. Use of free weights, resistance bands, and body weight, and a range of strengthening, balance, and core exercises will be incorporated into this whole-body class. 

Core Conditioning - Whittle your middle while improving your posture and strength with this core conditioning class.   A strong core also contributes to better balance, flexibility and cardio performance,  and helps do basic tasks like lifting heavy objects.


Slow Flow Yoga -  Enjoy an upbeat flow that will tone the body, calm the mind and lifts the spirits.   This class will incorporate poses that build strength, endurance, and balance as well as slow down move deeper and create space, mind and body.  Increase strength and flexibility, reduce stress,  and enhance overall well-being, a perfect compliment to your routine.  Class closes with a soothing series of stretches followed by a brief relaxation segment.  Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.  


Sweat & Stretch -   Earn your shower and strengthen those muscles with this fun, heart-pumping aerobics workout followed by some relaxing stretching exercises.  Tuesday weights and mats required.  Thursday bands and mats required.  


Water Aerobics -  Exercise if fun when it is the water.  Done most vertically without swimming in waist deep or deeper water,  it is a type of resistence training.  


Zumba -  If you love dance and love to have fun,  you'll love Zumba!  This aerobic fitness program combines Latin and international music with fun dance moves.  Routines involves interval training (fast and slow rhythms)  to help improve cardiovascular fitness.

TVs, internet and Life Fitness equipment. We are connected to LF Connect so you can keep track of your progress by just scanning a bar code using your Android or Apple product. Cardio equipment includes the treadmills, cross trainers, recumbent Lifecycles, upright Lifecycles and Nu-step. For strength training there are weight machines, TRX , free weights and kettle bells, medicine balls, and a Smith machine for bench pressing.
